Watching your favorite Netflix TV shows and movies on your iPhone 6 Plus just got better with updates and improvements to the app. Since Apple launched the large phablet, Netflix, along with other app developers, have been working to take advantage of the increased device size. The updated app – Netflix 7.0 – was released on November 11th and includes improvements for iOS 8.
Since the iPhone 6 Plus has a resolution size of 1920×1080 pixels, Netflix could take advantage of the screen and up the streaming resolution on the app to 1080p. However, since the iPhone 6 has a resolution of 1334×750, the updated Netflix app won’t make a visual difference on the smaller (yet still large) smartphone.
In order to run Netflix 7.0 on your iPhone 6 Plus, go to the App Store and download the free app, then choose your monthly plan. The plans start at $7.99/month and are available for residents of the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, the UK, and other locations. Netflix recommends that you have at least 5 megabits per second of bandwidth available on a Wi-Fi connection. Your video quality will depend on the quality of your Wi-Fi connection.
If you don’t have an iPhone 6 Plus but want to watch Netflix on your device, you can still use the Netflix apps on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. The Netflix features comes as a built-in feature on Apple TVs.
