Read this articleWinning Week for Poker Pro Phil Hellmuth
Even though he hadn’t won a tournament since 2012, poker pro Phil Hellmuth is still considered one of the top in the game, and he has just had a winning week to prove why he has earned that respect. Hellmuth added to his resume November 16th by winning the Pittsburgh Open Main Event at Rivers Casino, topping off a week of wins.
Also known as the “Poker Brat”, Phil took home $54,000 from his win at Rivers Casino after defeating the 2012 World Series of Poker bracelet winner David Baker at the final table. Don’t feel too badly for Baker, though, as his 2nd place finish netted him $40,000 in the end.
This win for Phil Hellmuth capped off a week that included speaking at the induction of legend Jack McClelland into the Poker Hall of Fame, filming for Poker Night in America, and filming live coverage of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Championship. And did we mention that he also won a 2015 Corvette Stingray at the Kid Poker charity event? Hellmuth probably summed up the week best with his tweet: Surreal week.
