Read this articleHow to Reset Your iPad to Factory Settings
If your iPad is just not working or you plan to sell or give it away, it may be time to reset your iPad to factory settings. When you perform a reset to factory settings you are essentially wiping out all media, data, and applications from the device and returning it to the digital condition it was in when you first got it. Only do this if you have either tried all other options for fixing your iPad or if you are certain you do not want the device. It is also important that you do a complete backup of your iPad before starting any reset option.
Resetting Your iPad
- Go to your Home screen.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap General.
- Scroll to the option for Reset and tap it.
- Tap Erase All Content and Settings.
- Enter your Passcode if prompted.
- Read the warning message and tap Erase.
- Read the confirmation warning message and tap Erase.
- Enter your Apple ID Password if prompted.
- Tap Erase.
Your Apple iPad should now be back to factory settings. If your device is in such poor working condition that you can’t get to the Settings option, try pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button at the same time as the Home button until the Apple logo appears. Above all, though, be certain you want to really wipe out all of your information from the iPad and back up everything to an external storage space before resetting to factory settings.
