Read this articleHow to Connect Your iPod to Portable Speakers
Your iPod is designed to provide music for you, but sometimes you want to be able to share that music with others through connecting your iPod to portable speakers. You have a lot of choices between quality and price, but once you choose your speakers, the steps for playing music through your iPod are quite easy to follow.
Connecting Your iPod to Portable Speakers
Your iPod includes a small amplifier that you can connect to other sound accessories. Portable speakers should be self-powered, preferably with rechargeable batteries if you want to get the most for your money. All iPod models have a frequency of between 20 and 20,000 hertz, so be sure to look for portable speakers that work within these parameters. Some popular brands and styles include those by Apple as well as iBoom, Bose iPod Speaker Dock, i-Fusion, and Sony. Then instead of connecting your personal headphones, connect your portable speakers.
If you want to use wireless speakers, make sure you pair your device with your speaker through Bluetooth. To do this:
- Go to Settings on your Home screen.
- Select General.
- Enable the Bluetooth option. Be sure that your speakers are in discovery mode that the iPod can recognize them.
- One you have enabled Bluetooth you will see a list of your accessories.
- Click on the speaker name, and then click Connect.
Your wireless speakers should now be connected to your iPod and you can begin to play your music in the same way you would if you were the only listener.
