How to Adjust the Rotation Lock on My iPad Air 2
If you’re used to earlier versions of the iPad Air, you’ll probably notice that the iPad Air 2 is missing the external control switch of these previous models that lets you adjust the Rotation Lock and other features. You can access the Control Center for these features in 3 ways.
In an effort to streamline the appearance, Apple removed the original external controls and made these features available through the internal Control Center with just the swipe of your finger. To access the Control Center and adjust your rotation lock, use one of these three ways.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
- Go to Settings and then choose Control Center.
- Access the Control Center through an app, such as Maps.
To close the feature, swipe down, tap the top of the screen, exit through the app, or press the Home button. In the Control Center you can also access Airplane mode, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Mute features, as well as adjust the screen brightness. Some users complain that removing the Rotation Lock feature makes using the device while lying down less convenient, but otherwise easy to use and accessible.
