Apple to Host 8th Annual iTunes Festival

Last week U.K. music fans rejoiced with the announcement that Apple will be holding the eighth annual iTunes Festival this September at the historic Roundhouse concert hall. All of the iTunes performances can be streamed live or on-demand via all iOS devices, including iPod, iPhone, and iPad.

The list of confirmed performers is deep, with headliners including Blondie, Beck, Pharrell Williams, Sam Smith and Maroon 5. There will be over 60 concerts in total and fans will be able to win tickets to various shows through random draws on iTunes, as well as contests via Global Radio and the London Evening Standard.

“These live shows capture the heart and soul of iTunes and we love bringing them to our customers in the Roundhouse,” exclaimed Apple’s senior VP of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue, “…as well as to the millions of people watching all over the world for free.” 

Other confirmed artists for the 2014 iTunes Festival are Chrissie Hynde, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Kylie. 

Over the past seven festivals more than 430,000 fans have attended shows, with tens of millions watching live online.
