Rock n’ Roll legend, Paul McCartney, has re-released five of his most classic solo albums as iPad apps that will contain a bunch of awesome new features. Each app will include interviews, rehearsal videos, private photos, remixed audio tracks, and documentaries.
The five ground-breaking albums that were selected to be released as new iPad apps were, RAM, McCartney, McCartney II, Wings Over America, and Band on the Run. They are all currently available in the Apple App Store for the ridiculous price of £5.49 each – which is around £5 less than each individual album will cost you to download from the same store.
McCartney is following a recent trend in the music business to release albums as iPad apps. Popular recording artists Jay-Z, Björk, Lady Gaga and Snoop Lion have all produced beefed-up apps for the Apple App Store that contained numerous remixes and alternate versions of their new songs, as well as videos, interviews, and other fun features.
Some industry analysts predict that this is the direction that the music industry must go if they are to continue to make money and maximize profits. Releasing a new album and having 50,000 people buy it in the App Store just doesn’t cut it anymore.
Paul McCartney and Wings Live in Australia
Although many fans consider their 1976 tour of the United States their absolute best, Paul McCartney and Wings totally rocked this particular show in Melbourne, Australia in 1975. Complete with a beautiful tribute in the middle of the show to McCartney’s Beatles songs, this entire concert serves as the perfect time capsule for one of the greatest songwriters of all time at the peak of his performing powers. Enjoy!
