One of the NBA’s worst teams will try again to give one lucky fan $100,000 tomorrow night against the Chicago Bulls, as part of the team’s new partnership with the SugarHouse Casino. The new promotion is called the “$100,000 Buzzer Beater Challenge” and will occur at a total of 10 home games this year.
General Manager of the SugarHouse Casino exclaimed, “The Sixers team this season is young and fun – all things we can relate to at SugarHouse.” She neglected to reference the team’s ridiculous number of loses last year, ending up with the second most loses in the league, narrowly finishing above the putrid Milwaukee Bucks. This terrible finish led many Philly fans to demand that the coach be fired, the GM be fired, and that the owner sell the team. Sixers spokespeople said that the team was in a “rebuilding process”.
The SugarHouse Casino itself boasts over 1600 slots games and 60 table games, and is located right beside the river. In addition to the Buzzer Beater Challenge, they will also be the official partner of the 50/50 draws at Sixer home games. This new partnership is nothing new for the 76ers who already signed a long-term partnership with Bensalem, Pa. gambling-hotspot, Parx Casino in 2013.
Ex-76er and rabid gambling enthusiast, Charles Barkley, has yet to comment on the new partnership.
