How to Stop Calls from Ringing on Your Other Devices
One of the new, maybe annoying, features of iOS 8 is Continuity that lets phone calls ring to multiple devices. It might be convenient to answer a call on your iPad, but if you’re sharing an Apple ID in a household, those calls might be shared more than you want.

Sharing an Apple ID gives you the control to track information, especially when there are kids using an iTunes account. However, Continuity is always convenient in every situation. If you want to turn off the feature that lets your iPhone ring to other devices in the household, there are a few easy steps to take.

  • Tap Settings on your iPhone.
  • Scroll and select the FaceTime option. You will see an option for “iPhone Cellular Calls”.
  • Tap this option to disable iPhone Cellular Calls.
  • Go through and repeat this process on other iDevices in your household that you don’t want ringing.

If you have a Mac that is ringing with your iPhone calls and you want to disable the option, just go to your FaceTime app and then Preferences. You will see the same iPhone Cellular Calls disable option. While many users find Continuity as a convenient perk, not all users want their iPhone calls ringing to every device in the house, and these easy steps let you stop those extra interruptions.
