How to Install a SIM Card in Your iPhone 6 or 6 Plus

The SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card on your iPhone specifies which network you are capable of using for service. If you change service providers or travel to another region that does not support your typical carrier, you may need to install a new SIM card on your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

The SIM card on the iPhone 6 and 6 plus is located on the right side of the device. To install a SIM card:

• Insert the SIM eject tool that was included in your iPhone 6 or 6 Plus packaging box into the small circular hole next to the SIM card drive.
• Remove the eject tool and slide out the SIM card tray from the side of the device.
• Install the new SIM card into the tray – because of the angle of the SIM card it can only be installed in one direction.
• Carefully slide the SIM card tray back into the device to close.

The SIM card for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus is technically known as a Nano SIM card, a card smaller and approximately 15% thinner that the Micro SIM before it. However, many refer to the Nano SIM by just SIM.
